Staff is requesting our Board of Trustees’ approval of the District-wide Facilities Master Plan 2021.

Background:
|
In June of 2020, staff received approval from our Board to update the Facilities Master Plan (FMP). Since June, staff has created background drawings for each campus, walked each campus to review existing site conditions, and reviewed historical information. Staff also met with Maintenance, Operations, and Facilities staff and campus administrators to gain knowledge of existing issues.
Updated drawings were created for each campus from this data gathering phase. The drawings include existing conditions, general use information, and recommendations for improvements to bring all campuses up to current building and instructional standards. The FMP responses are campus-specific and address improvements needed to each building and site in our District to reach building and site condition equity across the District.

The nearly 300-page Facilities Master Plan 2021 was presented to our Board at the March 25, 2021, discussion and study session. A team of Bond Program staff and architect teams from HKIT architects and HED architects, who have been developing the FMP over the past ten months, walked the Board through the FMP development approach, guiding goals, and campus plan responses for each campus in our District.
General discussion took place and questions were answered. Follow-up to the discussion and study session for any further Board questions occurred during the month of May. Finally, requested approval of the District-wide Facilities Master Plan 2021 was mapped out for the June 15th Board agenda.

Fiscal Impact

There is no fiscal impact to the Facilities Master Plan approval. Development of the Facilities Master Plan was funded by Measure J.
|

|
The Superintendent's recommendation is that our Board of Trustees approve the District-wide Facilities Master Plan 2021.
