Quick Summary / Abstract: Staff is presenting a contract for the purchase and installation of playground equipment for the Arroyo Mocho Campus for our Board of Trustees' approval.
Background: At the February 20, 2018, Regular Board Meeting, our Board of Trustees approved the scope and sequence for our Districtwide Playground Improvements Project.

The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District has been awarded a grant by the Alameda County Office of Education to provide inclusive programming for students in Special Education at the Free To Be Me preschool located at the Arroyo Mocho campus. The grant includes funding to install a new playground that can accommodate students with limited mobility so they may have equal access as their general education peers.
Status Staff is proposing to contract with Miracle Playsystems, Inc., through its Sourcewell contract (formerly known as National Joint Powers Alliance - NJPA).

The Sourcewell cooperative purchasing agreement allows our District to save the time and expense of conducting a District-specific bidding process, as it has been previously publicly bid. School districts are allowed by Education Code to utilize the pricing and terms in these existing contracts. This time-saving process allows these projects to move forward rapidly.

Attached to this item is the contract for the purchase and installation of the equipment for the Arroyo Mocho Campus.

On April 3, 2020, our Board of Trustees voted unanimously in favor of Resolution No. 051-19/20, Designating Public Works Projects as an Essential Government Function and Delegating Authority to Designate Further Public Works Projects as an Essential Government Function. This project has been designated as an essential government function public works project.
Fiscal Impact The amount of this contract is one hundred seventy-nine thousand four hundred sixty-seven and 45/100 dollars ($179,467.45). This project is funded by a Special Education grant provided by the Alameda County Office of Education.
