Quick Summary / Abstract:
Background: The Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELO-P) was established by the State of California in the 2021-2022 school year. The ELO Program funds before/after school and intersession learning opportunities for students in grades Transitional Kindergarten (TK)-6th who fall in the unduplicated count (socioeconomically disadvantaged, English Learners, and foster youth). Districts must offer access to all families whose students fall under the unduplicated count and provide families access to the program that request it. The goal of the program is to provide participating students with high-interest engaging learning experiences that foster academic, social, and emotional growth and also meet their physical needs to assist in closing any opportunity gaps.
Status The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) continues to support learning opportunities for students both within and outside of the school day. Our District diligently works to offer families no cost before and after school care, including intersession care for all unduplicated students across the district.

Revolution Foods will provide nutritious meals and snacks to student participants of ELO-P during extended learning hours, including after-school and summer programs. By offering healthier meal options that meet or exceed USDA nutrition standards, Revolution Foods will support ELO-P's mission to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The program will provide an increased variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, as well as culturally diverse menu items, catering to our diverse student population participating in expanded learning activities.

The term of this agreement shall begin October 1, 2024, and will terminate on June 30, 2025.
Fiscal Impact There is no impact to the General Fund. All associated costs are paid through grant funds.
