Background:
|
The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District has applied for and received Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education funds for over 20 years. Our District has a State-approved Career Technical Education plan that guides all Career Technical Education.
As part of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) application process, each Local Educational Agency (LEA) desiring to participate in the Perkins V funding for Career Technical Education (CTE) programs serving secondary students (Section 131 funding) must submit an application that includes annual program and progress evaluations, progress made toward goals identified in the Local Plan, identification of CTE Program of Study and Sequence of Courses, and projected budget expenditures.

The Carl D. Perkins Career grant is used for Career Technical Education programs delivered at each of the comprehensive high schools and Del Valle High School. Sites utilize funds primarily for supplies, equipment, and professional development to enhance and improve designated career pathways.

Fiscal Impact
:

There is no impact to the General Fund. The estimated allocation for the Carl D. Perkins Grant for 2021/2022 is $62,120.
