Staff is bringing a recommendation forward for our Board of Trustees to approve the lowest responsible bidder for exterior painting at Lawrence Elementary School.

Background:
|
Included in the Measure J Plan is the painting of the exteriors of most campuses. In line for painting this summer is Lawrence Elementary School. Staff contracted with Lionakis Architects to develop a set of plans of the campus that was used for bidding.
The work included will be: preparing surfaces prior to painting,
repairing dry rot, painting, and cleaning windows and screens. Staff
met with the principal of Lawrence Elementary School and the architect to select the colors and to decide which areas will receive which colors. The attached drawing provides an overview of the colors being used.

Status

A bid walk was held on March 23, 2021, with C-33 painting license holders to review the site and job. Eleven bids were received on March 30, 2021. The lowest responsible bid was received from Satellite Painting, Inc. for $86,000.00.
On April 3, 2020, our Board of Trustees voted unanimously in favor of Resolution No. 051-19/20, Designating Public Works Projects as an Essential Government Function and Delegating Authority to Designate Further Public Works Projects as an Essential Government Function. This project has been designated as an essential government function public works project.
