Map Consideration - Public Hearing No. 2
Background:
The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District’s Board of Trustees is currently elected under an “at-large” election system, where Board members are elected by voters of the entire District. On October 1, 2024, the Board took action to commence the hearing process to transition to by-trustee area elections. In a by-trustee area election system, each Board member must reside within the designated trustee area boundary and is elected only by the voters in that trustee area. On October 15, 2024, and October 31, 2024, the Board held public hearings to gather community input regarding the creation of trustee area maps. On October 31, 2024, the District timely published four draft trustee area maps and election sequencing schedules on the District’s website for public review and consideration.
On November 7, 2024, the Demographer presented information regarding the draft trustee area maps.
