Since 2019, the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District and Sierra Schools have worked closely together to provide high quality programming for students with severe emotional and behavioral challenges.
|
|
Background:
|
In an effort to provide high quality programs for our District’s students with intensive emotional and behavioral needs, we are proposing the continued partnership with Sierra Schools to provide program delivery on two of our campuses. Sierra Schools would continue to be responsible for providing the staffing, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), instruction, interventions, response for significant behavior needs, administrative support, and academic instruction. Their staff will have the same requirements for credentials, specialized training, and background checks as our employees.

Status

Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) and Sierra Schools have worked together since 2019 to provide high quality programs (K-12th grade) for our students with the most challenging emotional and behavior needs. The partnership has also allowed Livermore families the ability to keep their students in our community instead of having to travel long distances to place them in non-public schools.

Fiscal Impact
:

The service agreement amount is $1,096,200.00 for three programs. This amount is cost neutral for running similar programs in our District and represents a cost savings for our students participating in similar programs outside LVJUSD.
