Quick Summary / Abstract: Staff will present the 2021-2022 Comprehensive Safe School Plans for each school site in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District to our Board for approval.
Background: Our Board of Education recognizes that students and staff have the right to a safe and secure campus where they are free from physical and psychological harm. Our Board is fully committed to maximizing school safety and security and to creating a positive learning environment that teaches strategies for violence prevention and emphasizes high expectations for student conduct, responsible behavior, and respect for others.
Status The School Site Council at each District school shall be responsible for the overall development of a Comprehensive Safe School Plan relevant to the needs and resources of that particular school (Education Code 32281). The Comprehensive Safe School Plan shall take into account the school’s staffing, available resources and building design, as well as other factors unique to the site. Each school shall review and update its Comprehensive Safe School Plan by March 1 of each year (Education Code 32286). Each school shall forward the Comprehensive Safe School Plan to our Board for approval (Education Code 32288).
Fiscal Impact The fiscal impact is dependent on site plans. Each site is responsible for taking into account the school’s staffing and available resources when developing the Plan to meet the needs, funds and resources of that particular school.
